They are still very slow at the moment. All the Rocotos are doing well though, they are starting to flower now.

I havent included a rocoto this season, so Im counting on all of you to provide some nice pics!

The first batch of Variegated Rocotos were very disappointing, it seemed they lost their Variegation as they got bigger. Nice surprise today a new Variegated leaf on the largest / oldest seedling (2nd photo).
The newer seedlings are showing a lot better Variegation throughout. They are just very small, probably very late pods if any.
Looks like I've kept a nice one for Kratky / DWC later. Even has Variegated Stem

The original Variegated Rocoto cuttings from originally 2022 are growing very slow. I wonder if they think they've done their job and given me seeds so gone into retirement.
Still flowering, I find this when taking cuttings from flowering plants. 1st chance they flower like mad. It's like they are stuck in the flowering mode and cannot reset.

I don't have any pods yet, I'll let you know when I get some.

1st Flower on the Manzano Michoacan. Very nice flower & Variegated Calyx. It opened earlier than I expected, I can't see any pollen in the anthers so took the opportunity to cross it with one of my most Variegated Flowers (last picture).

My 2 crosses from last year, growing as F1 this year.
Happy with the first one so far. It's like a mini purple Mucho Nacho. Hopefully it tastes like the Jalepeno but keeps the heat of the Dark Thai Italia.

Not sure about the 2nd cross. Looks a bit too much like a cayenne, I was hoping for another chunky pod. Hopefully it tastes good.

Cool to look at! I haven't had any luck with my cross-pollination yet this year. Either I destroy the pistils of the receiving flower or the plants to be cross-pollinated don't flower at the same time (I'm gonna try something Jalapeno x Chinese-ish)

I'm trying a few more this year and I'm finding the same problems. I'm wasting more flowers trying so pod production will be down this year.
Keep trying, we'll get there.
