Starting to get some outdoors throughout the day. They'll still come in when its really cold

Rocotos loving the daytime outdoor temps at the moment. Small pot on from 4" to 5" before final pot on end of April.

What's people opinion on smallest pot size to get some pods from Rocotos? Purely thinking of seed saving on these, not interested in yield on these few.

My smallest pots for Rocotos was an AutoPot with 15 liters. I got some pods.

wow, that's larger than my normal sized pots, normal for me is 8-10 litres, i was thinking more like 2 litres for these.

I use AutoPots with 15 liters and AutoPot XL with 25 liters. In my greenhouse the plants are in raised beds.

I managed to get some pods from my Rocoto Canario in 9L pots, but the plant was pretty slow. It took me until end of october to harvest the first pods. My Rocoto Manzano Rojo did not build any pods in 9L. I can hardly imagine that it will work in 2L, but why not just try it?

8-10 litre normally does ok for me. I need to have them flowering in April/May to set pods. If they don't set pods in May, I'll then have to wait until the end of summer for them to set pods again. They don't set pods here if its hot & dry.
I think I'll use a mixture of pot sizes starting at 2 litre, upto a about 5 litre and see how they go.

7 Rocoto varieties final potted and outside already. Gone with 8 litre self watering pots. Quite a few little still deciding what to do with them.

Just experimenting really. I grow them as a hobby so no real pressure to get loads of pods.

Manzano Michoacan definitely different to every other Rocoto I've seen. Nice purple stems and starting to get buds

Waiting for the others to catch up. Probably 30 varieties this year, 40 plants in total.

They are still very slow at the moment. All the Rocotos are doing well though, they are starting to flower now.
